JOB TITLE: ADDICTION COUNSELLOR
EMPLOYED BY: CUAN MHUIRE CLG.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: PERSON IN CHARGE OF THE TEMPORARY EMERGENCY
ACCOMMODATION; HIS/HER ASSISTANT
JOB PURPOSE: The function of the Addiction Counsellor is essential and
critical to the support and recovery of the resident. He/she works as
a member of the Care Team.
MAIN DUTIES:
* Working as a member of the Care Team.
* To maintain a high standard of care in all dealings with Service
Users attending the Centre and their families.
* The Counsellor will Promote and Practice the Ethos of Cuan Mhuire.
* Facilitates group therapy meetings and Family meetings.
* Works on a one-to-one basis with residents.
* Oversees and takes responsibility for all matters regarding the
day to day running of the house.
* Supports and encourages all Residents to share in the group
setting.
* Ensure that a high standard of Health and Safety is always
maintained. (Please read and sign Teach Mhuire Safety Statement).
* Ensure that all Residents follow their Programme/Timetable and
Guidelines.
* Deals with service user queries channeled through you.
* Supports Manager and Administrative Staff in their dealings with
service users.
* Maintains privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to
Teach Mhuire and its service users, always acting with ethical
consideration and integrity.
* Maintains good quality, factual records relating to each Resident.
* Must follow Cuan Mhuire Standards, Policies and Procedures.
* Reports any concerns relating to Resident?s physical or mental
wellbeing to the Manager or person coming on duty.
* Reports any accidents to the Manager.
* Any other duties as assigned to you.
